Restart, Relationships, Balance! – Launching Our First Erasmus+ Project for Adults

We are delighted to begin the implementation of the “Restart, Relationships, Balance!” project – our first initiative dedicated to adult learners, made possible through the support of the Erasmus+ Programme.

An exciting educational journey lies ahead of us, aimed at empowering people aged 55+, developing their social, environmental, and digital competences, and strengthening relationships within the local community.

The first stage of the project will be a group educational mobility in Málaga, Spain, involving 15 participants from the Podlaskie region of Poland. During six days of activities, they will gain knowledge and practical skills related to environmental sustainability, sustainable lifestyles, and social engagement.

During the mobility, participants will:

• learn practical ways to save water and energy in their everyday lives,

• discover how to give everyday items a second life by creating useful eco-products,

• explore the basics of sustainable plant cultivation,

• learn how to organise local environmental initiatives,

• become familiar with modern digital tools that support education and communication,

• prepare and record a series of podcasts dedicated to environmental topics.

However, the project will not end with the mobility itself. Participants will develop their own ideas for social and environmental initiatives that they will be able to implement in their local communities after returning home. We want to demonstrate that, regardless of age, people can pursue their passions, develop new skills, and actively contribute to positive change in their surroundings.

At the same time, the NEMA Foundation staff will take part in a job shadowing activity in Lithuania, where they will explore innovative approaches to adult education, methods for engaging senior learners, and solutions supporting people with fewer opportunities.

The project is being implemented in cooperation with two experienced international partners. The partner responsible for hosting the group mobility for adult participants in Spain is EuroMuévete, while the job shadowing activity for the NEMA Foundation staff will take place in Lithuania in cooperation with Asociacija „Apkabink Europą“.

Through international cooperation, project participants will have the opportunity to discover new approaches to adult education, exchange experiences, and gain inspiration from good practices implemented in other European countries.

“Restart, Relationships, Balance!” marks the beginning of a new chapter in the activities of the NEMA Foundation. We believe that the experience gained through the project will lead to new initiatives, the development of adult volunteering, and an even stronger educational offer for our local community.

We invite you to follow our journey – very soon we will be sharing updates and stories from the project!
