We’ve just wrapped up an extraordinary week of the FANVERSE project, where young people from Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, North Macedonia, and Italy gathered in Niećkowo to explore the world of fan cultures, develop their talents, and create their own multimedia works.
From the very first moments, participants broke the ice through integration games and conversations about their passions. By presenting fandoms from their countries, they showed how diverse – yet similar – fan communities across Europe can be. Together, we defined key concepts such as fanart, fandom, fanfiction, and cosplay, building a foundation for the activities that followed.

The project was a true journey through the world of creativity – the participants built their own universes and characters, wrote fanfiction, designed character cards, created illustrations and graphics, and learned how to tell stories in an engaging way. Through hands-on workshops, they discovered tools such as Canva, Genially, and CapCut, which helped them develop their skills in graphic design, storytelling, and video editing. Experiencing Theatre of the Oppressed and experimenting with alternative endings to well-known stories added a layer of reflection and creative exploration to the project.
There was also space for important conversations about online safety and responsible use of social media. Participants created their own Instagram and TikTok profiles, where they could express themselves and showcase the results of their teamwork. Over the course of the week, more than 50 multimedia projects were created – ranging from illustrations and short stories to videos and interactive games.

At the end of the project, the young participants shared their experiences and future plans while learning about the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme. They received Youthpass certificates, confirming the competences and skills they had gained throughout the week.
FANVERSE showed that fandoms connect people beyond borders and that creativity knows no limits. A week full of inspiration, collaboration, and new friendships proved that passions can become the foundation for international cooperation and personal growth.
